On 12th November, Dr. George P. Thomas is honored with the degree of “Doctor of Philosophy” from the hands of Prince Kane, a Knight Commander and first cousin of Price Charles of the British Royal family. He is recognized for the research work and thesis done on Production Management in context with Rubber Products by Open International University, Columbia. The thesis is based on the need of quality control, workers satisfaction, and a humanitarian approach to business and how we contribute in building up our nation as responsible citizens.

Dr. George is awarded by the Open International University for Complementary Medicine which is recognized by WHO. This high ranked University has U.S. accreditation and approval from the Ministry of Sri Lanka, U.G.C approval and affiliation in more than one hundred nations of the World.

There were some distinguished personalities of India present at the event including the Health Minister of Uttaranchal State, Dr. Ramesh Pokeral and many people from different notation of Europe, Australia, America, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Pakistan, Singapore, and Thailand. Earlier in the year 2004, Dr. Sir Lord Anton, its Chairman had also received Nobel Price for Medicine.
